Well, Blow Me

Well, guess the winds of change have blown in from those up high......and it stinks.

Justice Minister George Chaponda says the new bill would criminalise flatulence to promote "public decency".
"Just go to the toilet when you feel like farting," he told local radio.
Hold on here.  Let's just rewind a mo - The quote was heard on Malawi's radio waves!!!  Surely he swore?? (as that F word is classified as swearing).

Sooo, although he was advising the general public on how best to (ahem) relieve themselves of incovienient gases, he had to resort to swearing to get the message accross.

Good job he wasn't quoted saying that on the UK's airwaves else he'd be vilified for swearing.  I'm not a US citizen, but if heard on American airwaves, I'm sure they would have the gas chambers for that crime, wouldn't they??

The important wording is as follows:
"Any person who vitiates the atmosphere in any place so as to make it noxious to the public to the health of persons in general dwelling or carrying on business in the neighbourhood or passing along a public way shall be guilty of a misdemeanour."
A lawyer has stated that it includes farting - I agree.
"Would you be happy to see people farting anyhow?"
Ermmm, you don't actually see people fart.  You hear them, oh yes.....oh, and if you're unfortunate enough, smell them too.

Still.  As I said above, gotta admire a country attempting to bring in the winds of change but will there be any follow through??? Hmmmm.
